MOVE

  MAKING THE MOVE

Moving to a new area and a new job can be traumatic. Whenever my family contemplated a move, we would get a newspaper from the area to check out housing, food prices, hot topics of the locals, feed prices (we had livestock) and Internet access (important to my business). Now you can do all those things online on your smart phone or on your laptop!

Check out all the things you'll need to know before you put in a job application. If you hate the location, or if it lacks the specific assortment of services you need - then you don't want the position.

If you or a family member are disabled, or have special needs, this may influence what jobs and locations you would find desirable. Really remote locations or rural regions may have less availability of medical services or special education. Housing may not be access-friendly. Information about paying for home modifications, accessible home design and how to become your own self-advocate requesting modifications is at: SpinalCord.Org

Missing some critical paperwork? Here is how to obtain Birth, Death, Marriage, and Divorce Certificates.

NATIONAL PERSONNEL RECORDS CENTER
