And the winner is...........
Pick a Browser and get comfortable with it. Your browser choice will be determined by the strengths of each format and on how you like to work. And - if you can't decide right away, you can have both browsers on your system and even use both at the same time.
Some things to think about when choosing a browser:
- Will it handle the latest versions of web pages ?
- Do you get a lot of error messages when viewing pages?
- Do you like the way it looks?
- Is it easy to find all the features?
- Will you be incorporating a lot of electronic material into your regular work?
- What software programs might you want to use in connection with your browser?
- Do you prefer your programs to integrate or do you like seperate functionality?
- Will you be doing a lot of Internet Searches?
- Will you be handling a lot of Bookmarks?
- Will you be keeping up to date with electonic news, journals, government?
- Will you be participating in global electronic discussion groups ?
- How do you want to handle your email?
- Do you want to be able to filter it?
- Sort it? File it?
- Send it to individuals, groups?
Can't decide? Compare browsers at CNN. Don't like either one? Here are some Alternatives. And if you need help understanding how to use Netscape effectively, there is a great online tutorial covering Netscape Basics
