Occasionally, I'll be posting reviews on equipment we have actually used in the field. Since my spouse's occupation is forestry, most of the reviews will be about forestry equipment. But we also have an interest in disaster preparedness, so there will be some reviews of emergency gear. Fortunately, a lot of outdoor occupations involve similar equipment requirements.
In selecting equipment, do not settle for the cheapest item. If your safety depends on the gear, get the best quality you can afford from a reliable source. Often your co-workers will favor specific supply companies or specific products. That will give you a start point.
Sometimes I will post an overview of equipment that I have read about but not had a chance to try. I prefer to review only items we have actually used, but sometimes an item is so unique it needs to become more widely known. Natural resource occupations often involve specialized equipment. Exactly what is needed depends upon the outdoor specialty your job involves.
More gear reviews and observations will be added as time allows.
